LEGENDS CAR No. 26 |
| STEPIN' UP The 2002 season really got busy going into July with 10 races in 12 weeks. The
GRAHAM MOTORSORTS # 26 performed well averaging 7th place over 10 races at four different
tracks, including Barona Speedway
where we finished Number 1 in California Semi-Pro Dirt Track. I think this was due
more to persistence than performance though, as I still got a lot to learn about racing
dirt track in a Legends Car. The car was involved in a pretty bad crash at Cajon Speedway on Sept. 21, during
our 2002 National Qualifier main event when # 4 Micah Nourse lost the handle with one lap
to go. I happened to be the mea The next outing was back at Cajon on Oct. 12th for our last paved oval race in 2002. We faired well again qualifying 10th and finishing 7th with some exciting racing in the main event. Our final and 20th race of the season ran at the Barona Speedway. We finished a not so good 8th place after I almost spun in the main event (some times that's worse than just looping it) and took a drive through the infield. All in all, it was a season to hang your hat on, with the GRAHAM MOTORSPORTS Team finishing 2nd in S.C.L.A. Semi-Pro, and 8th place overall. We also finished 4th in the Nerdboy 7500 Track Championship at Cajon Speedway. The Southern California Legends Assoc. 2002 Banquet was a Big Hit with a Casino Night theme, including the wildest auction for unique prizes I've ever seen. We all had a good time as honors were given to the three class champions, # 15 Art Nevill (Pro), # 420 Bill Everett (Masters), # 48 Cory Miles (Semi-Pro) and congratulations to Rookie of the Year winner # 360 Steve Twillinger. A big thanks to the Southern California Legends Association for a bunch of hard work putting on a great season. The 2003 S.C.L.A. season is already underway with winter racing at the Vegas road course Silver State Championship Cup series and the i10 Speedway in Bythe Calif. Most regional tracks have now posted there 2003 schedules, and the S.C.L.A. schedule is going to be out soon. I'll be running in the Masters class this season, moving up from 3 seasons in Semi-Pro. We have 7 races this year at Barona Speedway, where I'll be getting more seat time on the dirt to figure it out. Dirt track is a blast, you really drive the car so much more. Sometimes you go lock to lock steering through the corners making it really exciting. This season we will also run 7 races at Cajon Speedway, and work in a couple Orange Show Speedway races to fill our schedule. All their is left to say is BRING IT ON! We at GRAHAM Motorsports are proud to announce the acceptance of the FEED THE CHILDREN organization to allow us to help promote awareness in their fight against hunger for needy children around the world. As well as displaying their logo on our car, we have also chosen to sponsor a child through their wonderful organization. Please visit their website at http://www.feedthechildren.com to see about helping to relieve the suffering of very needy children. See you at the races, Bob Graham III |
